Kayla Acklin, is a former substance abuse and addiction counselor who has been certified as a Therapist in Human Growth and Development and Body Chemistry. She has specialized in the area of drug addiction treatment and has trained in both a cognitive-behavioral therapy and medication treatment for those suffering from addiction. She is a National Board Certified Therapist, a Certified Clinical Psychologist, a Social Work Research Expert, a Psychological Practice Specialist, a Drug Rehabilitation Counselor, and a Mental Health Professional. In her role as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation therapist, she focuses on incorporating medical, clinical, educational and other treatment strategies for patients struggling with drug addiction and alcoholism.
In her private practice, Kayla helps individuals and families to understand their illness and learn coping mechanisms for their disorders. She is an author, speaker and therapist who have developed a number of resources, including her own CD, Recovery in Power.
