Cassie Gibbons is an Alcohol and Drug Detox Chair Counselor, a Professional Therapist and a Substitute Provider at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Huntsville, AL. She has been a certified substance abuse therapist for the last eleven years and is currently working with individuals and families in the area of drug and alcohol dependency, depression, mood disorders and eating disorders. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Counselor Education and Therapeutic Psychology and is a member of the ALA, who also holds a Masters in Social Work, as well as a Master of Life Coaching and a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling. Her areas of concentration include behavioral health, life coaching, family systems, group therapy, and addiction recovery.

Cassie has spent many years working closely with many individuals and families through a drug addiction program that emphasizes life-skill based recovery from addiction. She is an integral part of the Positive Behaviour Intervention & Support Initiative (PBISI), which are a component of the Chicago Department of Health and Human Services. Her professional background and her experience as a substance abuse counselor and therapist will serve as her guide as she begins her new role as a substance abuse counselor and therapist at STHS.

Cassie has been referred to as a master counselor by her boss and will begin her job at STHS on the first of July. She looks forward to meeting her patients and sharing her hope for them to recovery and will be available to provide her patients and their families with telephone counseling during office hours, if needed.
